Subaru outback driver window reset

Jun 23, 2019 · Going back the garage, I turn the push-button start to ON (rather than ACC), and used the passenger side window button to run the window all the way up, all the way back down, and then up again. Now the window operated normally from both the passenger's side button and the driver's side button. Mission accomplished. I chalked it up to a fluke.

The auto up/down does not work. When I push and hold the button down, the window goes about half way, and then stops. I have to let go of the button and press it again to get it to go the rest of the way. Getting the window to come up is even worse! Remove the switch assembly from the door. Take it apart as much as possible and try to get some contact cleaning spray or alcohol into the working parts. When I try to close the passenger side window by lifting the power switch, it goes all the way up then bounces back to halfway shut (or open - take your pick). It won't move up again until I move it down after which i can incrementally move it up until it closes.Usually the reset procedure solves the issue. I'd try disconnecting the battery for 2 or 3 minutes to ensure the window module memory is killed, and after reconnecting it again, try the power window switch.
