All three sections of Journal of Personality and Social Psychology are now using a software system to screen submitted content for similarity with other published content. The system compares the initial version of each submitted manuscript against a database of 40+ million scholarly documents, as well as content appearing on the open web.

Over this period, the top 5 largest publisher increased their share of the market from 39% to 49%, the top 10 largest increased from 47% to 58%, and the top 20 from 54% to 65%.
