Not too long ago, I found myself in a similar situation. When I opened iMessage, I was greeted with a “Tap to Download” on each photo and video. I thought, “no problem, I’ll just tap on the files, and they’ll download right away,” but that was not the case. iMessage wouldn’t allow me to download the photos onto my iPhone.
