The code came up P2646 (rocker arm off or stuck). I took the info and drove about 20 more total miles and then it happened once again. I looked at the some info online and decided it might be VTEC oil pressure switch related as the code diagnostics said. SO I picked up one up and installed it.(From what I've learned on this site, most times it's hard to tell them apart!) Most everyone here says that the aftermarket ones are pure junk. Based on your description, it sounds like your Element is in "limp" mode. My best guess is it will show either a P2646 or P2647 code; which means a problem with the VTEC system. The code pulled is P2646 on my 2008 Element, which is "Rocker Arm Actuator Stuck Bank 1". The original fix was to replace the VTC Oil Control Valve (Rocker Arm Oil Pressure Switch) as well as the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) solenoid.
